Have you ever asked yourself, “How can I make sure that my prayers are effective?”

No one likes to just pray into the wind, hoping they say something that makes a difference.

There are many kinds of scriptural prayer targets, and many kinds of intercessors—some pray using lists, some pray for the government, for crisis intervention, for leaders, family members, the lost, etc.

But what if there was a key that made all kinds of prayer more effective—sure to come into agreement with the heart of God every single time?

I believe this kind of praying exists—and it is called Prophetic Intercession!

To be a prophetic intercessor is to lean into your heavenly Father, and pray what you see and hear in alignment with His heart, empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Prophetic intercession marries the priestly role of holding the needs of the people before God with the prophetic role of leaning into God’s heart for the people.

This unique grace paves the way for prophetic promises to be fulfilled. This is outlined in Jeremiah 27:18 where it says, “If they are prophets and have the word of the Lord, let them plead with the Lord Almighty.”

We have an open invitation to join the Spirit in pleading every unfulfilled covenant promise before the throne of God. We can follow His urges to pray into circumstances in which we may know very little in the natural.

Prophetic intercession is not just for the elite, it is for everyone!

As S.D. Gordon sad, “The greatest thing anyone can do for God and man is pray. You can do more than pray after you’ve prayed. But you cannot do more than pray until you’ve prayed.”

Lesson 1: Entering Into the Intercession of Christ
The foundations of my life in God began in a tiny rural Midwest community called Cowgill, but it was the journey from barrenness to 4 miracle children that launched my wife and I into prophetic intercession. These powerful testimonies will unlock your heart with faith to move from small beginnings into promises fulfilled. Jesus was not only our model intercessor during His time on earth, but He now sits at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us day and night. You and I are invited to lean into His heart and join Him with authority.
Lesson 2: Prayer Passion: Where Compassion and Passion Unite
Godly sorrow is one of the fruits of wisdom. It also produces intimacy and the joy of feeling loved. A revelation of the broken heart of God for humanity allows you to share in the tears of God, and unlock a passion and desire that will move His hand.
Lesson 3: Travail: The Prayer That Brings Birth
In the natural, babies do not come forth into the world through a mother’s passive, laissez-faire approach. Rather, new life is brought forth through groanings and intensity. God invites us to wrestle in the pains of labor to see His purposes brought forth on the earth.
Lesson 4: Praying Down Supernatural Encounters
We serve a miraculous God. Throughout history He has been in the business of using ordinary men and women as vessels through which he pours His supernatural power. It’s time to cast aside fear, put on faith (spelled R-I-S-K) and cry out for an invasion of Holy Spirit activity in response to our prayer invitations!
Lesson 5: God’s Heart: A Prophetic Generation
The revelatory gifts of God are for the many, not the few. God invites us all to be ones into whose hearts He can plant the knowledge of His plans—so that we might partner with Him in seeing them brought forth. He wants you to join this prophetic army.
Lesson 6: Accessing God’s Revelatory Ways
God has innumerable ways of speaking to us. He’ll use pictures, words, languages, dreams, visions, and any means at His disposal. He is looking for open hearts to receive His messages. Understanding His ways is a key to opening new channels of receiving His revelation.
Lesson 7: Divine Insight by Praying in the Spirit
Early in my journey the Holy Spirit spoke to me in a dream and said, “If you would pray two hours in the Spirit in one setting, I will give you a spirit of revelation.” I received this not as a law, but as an invitation to step out of the natural and into the power of praying in the Spirit.
Lesson 8: Israel: God’s Prophetic Calendar
The prophetic promises of God are coming to pass today in the story of His chosen people, Israel. The board has been set and the chess pieces are moving. He welcomes us into the call of Jeremiah 31:7 to proclaim, praise and pray for His purposes to be fulfilled for this strategic nation, the apple of His eye.
Lesson 9: The Power of Prophetic Intercession
Prophetic intercession marries the priestly role of holding the needs of the people before God with the prophetic role of leaning into God’s heart for the people. As we wait before the Lord, we can receive His burden and then respond back to Him with divinely anointed intercession that paves the way for His prophetic promises to be fulfilled.
Lesson 10: Proclamation: Decreeing a Thing
Proclamation has power. We are called to announce, declare, ascribe, call out, and pronounce the blessing of the finished work of the cross of Jesus, that is greater than any curse. Praise is one of the highest forms of spiritual warfare that turns back the enemy!
Lesson 11: Wisdom Issues for Intercessors
Since my youth, I have asked the Lord for wisdom beyond my years. Wisdom is critical if we are going to walk in both intimacy and warfare for the long haul. In this session, I’ll unpack ten strategic wisdom principals that will keep you both tough and tender, and protected within the heart of God while engaging the battle.
Lesson 12: A Heart for His Presence
The Holy Spirit is reopening the prophetic gateways between heaven and earth. We must not only redig old wells, but also open up new regions for His presence. It is time for the breakers to come forth for this generation. Will you be one who offers yourself anew to Christ and His purposes?
